She’s Two!

Yesterday when we arrived at swimming lessons, Kade didn’t have his shoes on so we had to wait a minute while he put them on so we could make the long trek from the parking lot into the building. Dax was afraid we would be late, so he thought it was a nice opportunity to punch his brother in the arm. Of course Kade started to bawl and I told Dax he needed to tell him sorry and give him a hug so he would stop crying. Dax begrudgingly did, but then said “I don’t know why it matters anyway. He’s just going to get his eyes wet again in a few minutes.”

This morning I was helping Kade go to the bathroom and we have learned that when he sits on the toilet you have to help him “push it down” or pee is going to squirt everywhere. He had just started to go when he got a horrified look and yelled “Ewww Mom you have something on your finger!!!” “What is it?” I asked as I looked anticipating a bug or booger or something. “IT’S A WEINER! HA HA HA HA!!!”

Delicious

I just found some pictures of this awesome cake I made a few months ago with the kids. The colors are weird, I know, but we only had 2 old things of food coloring to work with and they were mostly gone. It is the only fondant cake I’ve ever attempted, and I’ll probably never do it again. It took way too long. I prefer to slap on the already prepared stuff and some sprinkles. But anyway, this cake was from scratch with raspberry filling, and it was MMMMM good!!! Now I’m hungry…

Tour de Cure 2010

About a month ago Asiel and I rode in the Tour de Cure, which raises funds for diabetes research. This year’s 65 mile ride was a more difficult route than last years, and the weather was TERRIBLE. It was freezing cold and the wind blew up to 50 miles per hour all day long (and no matter which direction we were going it was blowing us backwards… :) ). It took us 7 hours to complete, but we finished and we will do it again next year I’m sure.
Aren’t we stylish in our biking attire?

Here we are with our friend Josh. He helped me keep going when Asiel left me in the dust. Thanks Josh!

Lady DaDa (aka Darcy) often makes up new songs for us. This morning as I was doing her hair she was singing one that I think could be a real hit. And since I inspired the lyrics, I think I should get a cut of the profits…

If I had a boyfriend…yeah yeah yeah
When I was 18 years old…OH Baby!
But I can’t have a boyfriend…no no no
Cuz’ my mama says I’m too little…yeah yeah yeah
My mama says that boyfriends…yeah yeah yeah
Are only for twenty year olds…oh baby…
But if I had a boyfriend!….yeah yeah yeah….

Pretty Darcy

Well, I recently posted pictures of Dax and Ky so I thought I had better post some of the other kids too. Here are some good ones of Darce…

Teaching my children valuable life skills

We get solicitors at our house WAY too often. This morning our doorbell rang while I was still in my pjs. As my kids made a mad dash to answer it I tackled them to the ground and told them we were going to hide really quietly and pretend no one was home. After 5 minutes of trying to keep them hushed and contained my sister called. “Whatcha doin?” she asked. “We are hiding.” I answered. “Oh. Well I’m at your front door. Come let me in.”
